If you suspect your air quality could be improved, which is usually the case for most homes, then there are two primary ways in which you can achieve cleaner air quality.
Whether it’s the air in your home or office space that you’re trying to better, you’ll want to use, either a HEPA air purification system or a static-electric system. You might be wondering at this point why you should even have one of these air purifiers in your home or office and what benefits they carry.
With the amount of time most US citizens spend inside, in enclosed spaces, it’s best that you limit the number of airborne pollutants you breath in. Whether it’s spores of pollen, mold, pet hair/dander, or just plain old dust, you want to get these things out of the air, as they can actually be found at much higher levels than those found outside.
Before you go out and buy yourself a brand new air purifier you’ll want to conduct some of your own research to figure out exactly what kind of purifier is best suited for you and your specific needs.
HEPA air purifiers are great units that do a good job of purifying almost all of the air that passes through them; however, one of the down sides to these types of purifiers, is they require the owner to replace the prefilter every 3 months on average. The carbon pre filter is what removes larger particles before the air passes through the actually HEPA filter which usually has a lifespan of around 3 years.
Static electric air purifiers use electricity to filter the air that passes through them and generally work just as well as the aforementioned HEPA. Instead of having to buy replacement filters for electrostatic air purifiers, you’ll have to remove the purifying plates and wash them once they get too covered in dirt to effectively filter.
If don’t mind a little maintenance once in a while, then the static electricity purifiers are a good option for you, but if you don’t mind buying new Honeywell 38002 carbon pre filters every three months, then a HEPA air purifier will suit your needs just fine.
